Quick answer

Confirm the can size first. For easier removal later, we recommend a quick, light spray of vegetable cooking oil on the can before installation. Ease the sleeve on gently, then hand wash and air dry it after use.

Before installation

Three Checks Before You Begin

A sleeve that is the wrong size should not be forced onto a can. A small preparation step can also make removal much easier.

2

Start clean

Make sure the outside of the can and the inside of the sleeve are clean and free from grit that could mark either surface.

3

Prepare for removal

We recommend a quick, light spray of vegetable cooking oil, such as PAM, on the outside of the can before installing the sleeve. Wipe away any excess.

Installation

How to Put the Sleeve On

Use steady, even pressure. The sleeve should fit securely without being stretched beyond its intended can format.

1

Prepare the can

Use an unopened can when possible. If using our removal trick, apply only a quick, light spray of vegetable cooking oil to the can and wipe away excess.

2

Line it up

Centre the sleeve opening over the top of the can with the design facing the direction you want.

3

Ease it over the rim

Use both hands to stretch the opening evenly over the can. Gradually work it downward without pulling hard from one side.

4

Smooth the surface

Adjust wrinkles or trapped air with your fingers until the sleeve sits evenly around the base. Wipe off any oil that reaches the outside.

5

Stop if it feels wrong

If the sleeve will not move without excessive force, remove it and confirm the can dimensions. Volume alone does not guarantee the same height and diameter.

Fit matters: A standard 355 mL can, a slim 355 mL can and a 473 mL tall boy are different formats. Never assume one sleeve fits all three.

The important trick

Use Only a Quick, Light Spray

Removal tip is to use a quick spray of PAM or another vegetable cooking oil before the sleeve is installed. This reduces friction when it is time to remove the can.

Do not soak the sleeve or coat its outside. An oily exterior may become slippery. Hand wash the sleeve after removal to eliminate any remaining oil.

Cleaning and drying

Simple Hand Washing Is the Safest Starting Point

We do not have the final product specific dishwasher or heat care instructions for the proposed Canadian launch.

Recommended care

  • Remove the sleeve from the can before washing.
  • Use lukewarm water and a small amount of mild dish soap.
  • Clean gently with your fingers or a soft cloth.
  • Rinse the inside and outside thoroughly.
  • Air dry completely before storing or reusing.

Avoid until confirmed

  • Dishwashers, boiling water or microwaves
  • Bleach, solvents or strong chemical cleaners
  • Abrasive scrubbers or stiff brushes
  • Dryers, radiators or direct high heat
  • Storing the sleeve while damp

Care status: The vegetable oil removal tip. We will update the remaining care details after Canadian samples are physically tested and the supplier confirms its final instructions.

Storage

Store It Clean, Dry and Unfolded

  • Let both surfaces dry completely.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Do not leave it tightly folded or under heavy objects.
  • Do not leave it on a wet can for long periods.
  • Inspect it before each reuse.

Common questions

Beer Can Sleeve Care FAQ

Can I put a beer can disguise sleeve in the dishwasher?

Do not assume it is dishwasher safe. Until the final product instructions are confirmed, hand wash the sleeve with mild dish soap and lukewarm water.

How do I remove a tight sleeve?

We recommend applying a quick, light spray of PAM or another vegetable cooking oil to the outside of the can before installing the sleeve. When removing it, gently twist and pull the can out, then hand wash and completely air dry the sleeve.

Should I dry the sleeve before storing it?

Yes. Air dry the inside and outside completely before storage to prevent trapped moisture and odour.

Will one sleeve fit every beer can?

No. Standard, slim and tall cans can have different heights and diameters. Check the product specifications and our Canadian size guide before installation.
