Hockey Coach and Team Manager Gifts: A Simple Thank-You Plan
Hockey coach and team manager gifts start with a short list: who you’re thanking, what you can spend, and one thing each person did that mattered.
Here’s how to turn that list into personal puck keepsakes for the people behind your season.
Build your thank-you planRecipient checklist · Budget example · Messages to borrow

The quick answer
Choose a keepsake, add a specific thank-you, and agree on the total cost before collecting money. A decorated hockey puck is one option. A team photo or a handwritten card can work too.
Our coach thank-you sticker kit pairs seven role designs with seven blank message backs. Match the fixed roles to your recipients first, then add your own pucks. You do not need to buy seven gifts if your team only needs five.

Make the list before you buy the gifts.
Teams have different staff arrangements. Write down the names of your head coach, assistant coaches, trainer, manager and any volunteers you want to recognize. Check the list with another parent so nobody is missed. If you’re the manager, ask someone else to coordinate your gift.
One kit, seven fixed roles
The Hockey Coach Thank You Puck Sticker Kit contains the following fronts, plus a matching blank “With Thanks” back for each one.
| Front design | Qty. |
|---|---|
| Head Coach | 1 |
| Assistant Coach | 2 |
| Team Manager | 1 |
| Team Trainer | 1 |
| Team MVP | 1 |
| Rink Legend | 1 |
Does it fit your team?
There are five staff-specific fronts, including two for assistant coaches. Team MVP and Rink Legend give you two additional recognition options when those titles suit the recipients.
- Have three assistants? This kit contains two Assistant Coach fronts.
- Only thanking the coaches? Save the other designs for another occasion.
- Want different roles or names printed? This is a fixed set, with messages handwritten by you.
14 stickers, up to 7 gifts.
Each finished gift uses one front, one back and a puck you supply.
02 / Set the budget
Work out the full cost, not just the kit.
The sticker kit is listed at
That works out to about $3.57 per sticker pair when you use all seven. Each pair makes one decorated puck when combined with a hockey puck you supply.
Free standard shipping within Canada. No minimum purchase on eligible hockey sticker-only orders. Shipped via untracked Canada Post Lettermail.

Your team's total
Sticker kit + hockey pucks + suitable permanent marker + any gift bags or cards + applicable taxes.
Shipping: FREE standard shipping across Canada when ordering eligible hockey sticker products only. Mixed carts may have additional shipping charges.
Optional extras: Add a small coffee gift card only if it fits the agreed budget. A thoughtful handwritten message is often enough.
Example budget for seven gifts: At a $24.99 kit price, seven pucks at $2 each and a $3 marker, your subtotal would be $41.99 CAD, before applicable taxes and optional wrapping. Standard Canadian shipping on the eligible sticker-only order is free. Pucks and other supplies purchased separately may have their own shipping costs.
Once everyone agrees on the final budget, divide the total by the number of contributing families. For example, a $60 total shared by 15 families works out to $4 per family. Keep contributions optional and confirm your team's approach before using team funds.
03 / Make it personal
What to write on hockey coach and team manager gifts
Keep the note short enough to read on a puck. Mention a real moment, add your team name and season, and let a player write it where practical. Use these short examples as a starting point.
For a more specific note, try “Thanks for helping me find my confidence” or “Thanks for making my first season fun.” If every player wants to sign, use a separate team card rather than crowding the puck. Find more hockey puck message ideas or coach appreciation award titles.
04 / Put it together
Make the puck. Add the memory.
Gather your supplies
Use standard 3-inch hockey pucks, the sticker kit and a suitable permanent marker. The 2.74-inch transfers fit on the flat faces. Check the dimensions before applying.
Prepare and apply
Make both faces clean and completely dry. Remove the backing, position the front transfer and press firmly. Carefully peel away the clear carrier, then repeat with a matching back. Follow the product’s application instructions.
Write and let it dry
Add a brief message to the white back and allow the ink to dry before handling or wrapping. Keep these decorated pucks as gifts or display keepsakes, rather than putting them into gameplay.

A short thank-you is enough.
Choose a moment when the recipients can be there: a final practice, a team meal, a holiday gathering or the year-end banquet. Decide who will hand out each gift and prepare one sincere sentence about what that person contributed.
A simple presentation: “Coach, thanks for the time you gave us this season. We each learned something because you showed up.” Then let the player hand over the puck. There is no need for a long speech.
Leave enough time for delivery, application and drying. Check the shipping estimate before setting a gift date, especially around holidays. For more options beyond puck gifts, explore our hockey coach gift ideas.

Only thanking one person?
Choose a finished puck instead.
If you would rather order one complete gift, The Puck Drop includes a real hockey puck with your selected top style and edge message.
A “To / From” design and a sincere custom message can suit a coach thank-you. Check the available options and character limit when ordering.

Before you plan your team gifts
How much should a hockey team spend on coach gifts?
Start with a total the contributing families are comfortable with. Count all recipients and include supplies, delivery and tax. A modest keepsake with a personal note can be thoughtful without adding gift cards or other extras.
Should assistant coaches, the trainer and manager get gifts too?
Consider everyone who gave time to your team. Your recipient list does not need to follow another team’s staffing structure. A card, team photo or keepsake gives you ways to recognize people within the budget you have.
Does the thank-you sticker kit include hockey pucks?
No. You receive seven front designs and seven matching blank backs. Supply your own pucks and suitable permanent marker. The fixed assortment includes two Assistant Coach fronts.
Can I use this plan for Christmas and year-end gifts?
Yes. Choose the occasion that suits your team and adjust the note. For a mid-season gift, thank someone for what they have done so far. At year-end, include a memory from the season.
What if the kit’s roles do not match our team?
Do not assume the labels can be changed. Check the fixed assortment before ordering. For a single recipient, consider a finished custom puck; for a different group, team cards or a signed photo may be a better fit.
Give the thank-you a place to stay.
Seven sticker pairs. Your pucks. Your team’s own words.
Pucks and marker not included.
